I don’t remember liking any book as much as I did Anne of Green Gables by L. M. Montgomery. I was reminded of it a few days ago while visiting Epcot’s Canada Showcase. There, in the Kidcot, they had a copy of the book and a trivia question about it. Then, all of the memories came flooding back. I loved her spunk, tenacity, and her love of reading, learning, and the dramatics. She was awesome, and I wanted to be just like her (even dying my hair red when I got older). Unfortunately, I never could get my own children or students to appreciate it like I did. Oh well, I hope the appreciation doesn’t die with my age group.
