I’m good at writing. I should be; I’ve been doing it for most of my life. It started out as stories to keep my nieces and nephews entertained. Then, in middle school, I had a teacher who allowed me to be as creative as I wanted to be. I understand from my poor younger siblings and cousins that she continued to read them to her classes well after I went off to college.
Teaching and parenting slowed me down for a while because I just didn’t have the time for it the way I wanted. It’s difficult to be creative while raising four children and reading thirty college essays a week. And now that I’ve retired, the stories are just flowing from my head to my computer. (I just wish my hands were faster, sometimes.) Hopefully soon, I’ll be able to share them with my grandchildren in print.
